These Terms and Conditions apply to the “Texas Promotion.”
The State of Texas (“State”) is offering financial support to the State’s GED® test-takers who work with an Adult Education Learning grant funded program (“AEL Programs”) in the GED test-taker’s efforts to achieve passing scores on all four (4) GED® test content area tests (each a “GED Content Area Test,” collectively, the “GED Content Area Tests”) to earn their Texas Certificate of high school equivalency. This promotion continues while the State’s funds are available (“Promotion Period”).
The GED Content Area Tests are:
Reasoning through Language Arts; Social Studies; Science, and Mathematical Reasoning.
The Texas Promotion is available for legal residents of Texas and who are at least 21 years of age. Interested test-takers must contact a local AEL Program to confirm eligibility to receive the test voucher.
Using the funds set aside for this purpose, the State will purchase GED Content Area Test vouchers (“Voucher(s)”) and distribute them to AEL Programs upon request during the Promotion Period. The AEL Programs will provide the Vouchers to eligible program participants (each a “Test-taker”) to enable them to take one (1) or more of the GED Content Area Tests at no cost to the Test-taker. The total subsidy cannot exceed the total cost of all four (4) GED Content Area Tests. The AEL Programs will give each Test-taker no more than four (4) Vouchers during the Promotion Period; one (1) for each of the GED Content Area Tests. Vouchers are available for the initial attempt on a GED Content Area Test and for retakes. If a Test-taker fails to achieve a passing score on the GED Content Area Test for which they used a Voucher, they may be eligible for a retake voucher for that GED Content Area Test, but the total amount of the subsidy cannot exceed the cost of the four (4) GED Content Area tests. If a Test-taker fails to appear for a scheduled testing appointment, that “no-show” event will count as one GED Content Area Test attempt and the Test-taker will not be able to use a Voucher for that same GED Content Area Test again. The Test-taker will instead be responsible to pay for the cost of scheduling a new testing appointment. Eligible Test-takers desiring to use the Voucher must do so by scheduling their test appointments before the Promotion Period ends.
GED Testing Service LLC (“GED Testing Service” or “GEDTS”) retains the right to request additional information when processing or validating the use of any Voucher and is not responsible for late Voucher entries. Test seating at testing centers is limited and GEDTS is not responsible if there are no seats available at authorized testing centers or the Promotion Period ends before Test-taker has used their Voucher to schedule a GED Content Area Test. If a Test-taker fails to comply with any of the requirements of these Terms and Conditions, they will not be allowed to use a Voucher to take a GED Content Area Test.
The Texas Promotion is valid only during the Promotion Period and only in connection with GED Content Area Tests that are administered via computer. Vouchers are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to any other purpose or purchase or combined with any other discount.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time without notice. Additional terms and conditions may apply. GEDTS reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Texas Promotion, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond its reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of this promotion. GEDTS reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the GED® test scheduling system, or otherwise acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions. Void outside the State and where prohibited by law.
