NEW MEXICO FREE HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions apply to the “NM Free High School Equivalency Program”
The State of New Mexico (“NM”) is offering a GED® test subsidy to eligible Test-takers (NM 2025 HB 167) until: (1) the funding runs out; or (2) the state legislature rescinds the program. The NM Free High School Equivalency Program is available to support NM’s GED® Test-takers in their efforts to achieve passing scores on all four (4) GED Ready exams and GED® content area tests to earn their GED high school equivalency credential. The four GED® content area tests are:
Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Mathematical Reasoning.
The NM Free High School Equivalency Program is administered by GED Testing Service LLC (“GEDTS”). GEDTS will provide eligible Test-takers who are NM residents with automatic jurisdictional pricing of $0 for the GED Ready® Official Practice test (up to three attempts in each subject in a 40-day period); and eligible Test-takers who have passed the GED Ready® Official Practice test for one specific content area with automatic jurisdictional pricing of $0 for the GED Official Test in that same content area.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the NM Free High School Equivalency Program, the Test-taker must meet NM’s policy requirements for taking GED tests and, for the content area exams, have passed at least one (1) of the GED Ready® Official Practice tests for each of the content area tests.
GEDTS retains the right to request additional information when processing or validating the use of jurisdictional funding and is not responsible for misapplication. Test seating is limited and GEDTS is not responsible if there are no seats available. If a Test-taker fails to meet any of the requirements of these Terms and Conditions, they will not be allowed to use the Free High School Equivalency Program. The NM Free High School Equivalency Program is authorized in connection with the NM GED® in-person testing program and Online Proctored testing program.
The NM Free High School Equivalency Program is valid only as long as the state legislature approves and only in connection with GED® tests that are administered via computer in-person or the online proctored test. The Free High School Equivalency Program is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to any other purpose or purchase or combined with any other discount.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time without notice. Additional terms and conditions may apply. GEDTS and/or NM reserve the right, without notice, to cancel, suspend and/or modify the NM Free High School Equivalency Program, in whole or in part, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond its reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of this NM Free High School Equivalency Program. GEDTS reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the GED® test scheduling system, or otherwise acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions. GEDTS may impose disciplinary measures for Test-taker violating these Terms and Conditions or any other misconduct, such disciplinary measures may include, but are not limited to, revoking scores, revoking credential, and suspending from further GED® testing. Void outside NM and where prohibited by law.
