Nicholas - Walmart

He was the first of his three brothers to ever earn any kind of credential.

Nicholas is an automotive department manager at Walmart in Yorktown. Even though he has advanced in his career through hard work and dedication, he always wanted to get his GED credential. He knew it would open a lot more opportunities.

When he decided to enroll in GEDWorks, his co-workers and department managers supported and cheered him on. Within two months he passed his tests, earned several incentives, such as gift cards, and ultimately received his high school equivalency. Finally getting that GED credential was an emotional experience for Nicholas, as he was the first of his three brothers to ever earn any kind of credential. “I got my GED credential with Walmart and it’s a great feeling.”

Today he continues to make his family proud. He’s in the process of joining the Army and has been accepted to college to train to be a firefighter.
