Understanding Test Scores

Scores are usually available within 24 hours of testing. Although sometimes scores may take up to 3 business days to process and post to accounts. You will get an email informing you of when your test score has been added to your account. To access your score, log in to GED.com to see your scores under the ‘My Scores’ section.

Yes, it is possible to challenge your written response scores from your Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) exam.

Please note: the scoring process for written responses is highly accurate and has been refined since 2014. As a result, a second review is unlikely to change your score. We want to set clear expectations that there is a strong likelihood your score will remain unchanged if challenged.

If you still wish to request a re-score, please note the following:

  • Requests must be submitted within two (2) months of your RLA test date.

  • Contact one of our regional customer support teams: https://www.ged.com/content/websites/ged/en/contactus.html

  • A $50 re-score fee applies for each essay response you choose to challenge.

  • The $50 fee will be refunded only if your score changes.

  • The review process may take approximately 3–5 weeks.

*Any re-score request greater than 60 days from the RLA test date will be denied.
