What ID can I take to the test centre?
You will be required to provide one or more valid forms of identification on the day of the test. The ID must be government-issued and non-expired. It must also include your name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph. Your jurisdiction may require additional ID, proof of residence, or may have other requirements for testing.
What if my ID is not accepted at the test centre?
You will be turned away if you arrive at the Test Centre with invalid identification. You may need to escalate options by reaching out to [email protected]. A case will be opened for you,
but you will lose your test payment and this does not automatically qualify you for an alternative ID approval.
I do not have photo ID, what do I do?
A valid photo ID is necessary to properly authenticate your identity so we can ensure your GED profile matches the testing event. If you do not have a photo ID, you should reschedule your test up to 24-hours before the scheduled test event to provide you time to arrange photo ID.
What identification is necessary to test?
Students testing internationally are required to provide one valid form of ID. The ID must be government-issued and non-expired. It must also include the student’s name, date of birth, signature, and photograph. An address is not required on the ID.
Secondary ID to meet Signature Requirement
If the primary ID does not contain a signature, the student may provide a secondary ID that has a signature, such as a bank card or credit card.
EMEA Approved IDs
• Passport
• Driver’s license
• The National Identification Card
• European Identity Card issued by an EU or Schengen Zone country testing anywhere within the EU or Schengen Zone would be accepted
• Anyone else testing outside their country of citizenship would have to have their passport as this would be the only ID accepted at the center.
APAC Approved IDs
Refer to the GED Testing Service Client Reference for a list of acceptable primary IDs. Students can provide more than one form of identification to meet the requirements. Again, the student’s address is not required on the ID.
Israel ID Exception for Asylum Seekers
Students who are currently seeking asylum in Israel may present an expired visa as a form of primary ID if they also provide a visa extension letter. Students must present both documents to qualify for this exception.
What identification is required for refugees?
Identification requirements for refugees would depend on the jurisdiction’s policy. Refer to your jurisdiction’s policy on https://ged.com/en/policies/
